Resign

For the last two months, Parkside GOP Chair Minnie DiDomenico has used the borough council meetings to complain about the cost of fulfilling my RTK requests, lamenting the wasted taxpayer dollars. All of my RTK requests are available to be viewed by the public (a practice instituted by our former Dem majority).

Not once did any of them complain about the cost spent reviewing the thousands of emails requested by GOP residents. My RTK requests are largely financial information. If we're going to continue to have crooked politicians on our council, I will continue to babysit every cent they spend. They could do us all a favor and just resign.

Not one GOP councilmember has spoken up to denounce Councilman Dominic Capobianco and disgraced former councilman Robert Power's ethics violations, except to sweep it under the rug as a "lesson learned" or my favorite, Councilwoman Sarah Haynes blaming everyone else for the media coverage in February's meeting.

My RTKs so far this year have shown me that Councilman Capobianco collected half of a dumpster permit fee at the start of January. But wait, didn't council update that borough code in February to take dumpster permits out of the police department's bucket and move it to code enforcement? If code enforcement is going to keep half of that permit fee, why didn't they write that into the code when they updated the ordinance, or at the very least, TELL YOU? You know, for transparency.

Who is reviewing the code enforcement officer's timesheets? From my RTK, you can see that even though our borough code states the code enforcement officer keeps $25 of the $75 reinspection fee, his January timesheets show him keeping the whole $75.

I've asked these questions to our borough council, twice, and not a single person has answered me, even though our newest council members' campaigned on a plan to always answer the residents' questions, regardless of party affiliation.

I have no delusions that the current council majority would ever appoint a Democrat to fill a vacant seat. I am still requesting the resignation of any councilmember who thinks ethics violations are NBD, or that manufacturing an invoice for a fake company to be paid is ok, but submitting an RTK to see that invoice is a waste of money. There are plenty of amazing, passionate and intelligent Republicans in this borough you can appoint to fill their seat instead of another one of your morally inept yes men. Do the right thing. Drain the swamp you made.

As always, if there is something you'd like to RTK but don't want to be targeted or retaliated against, I will do it for you. Just send me a message.
